Model G1
This grand concert size guitar is extremely versatile and may be used for many different styles of music. This guitar is very quick to respond and sits comfortably in your lap. It has an incredibly focused sound. Evenly balanced with a tight responsive bass, transparent mids and clear, ringing highs. The G1 has the ability to reproduce complex chords with piano-like clarity, while articulating each individual note in fingerstyle patterns. While primarily a fingerstyle guitar, it is also superb for light strumming and acoustic jazz.
Scale length: 25.4" Body length: 19 1/2" Body width - Lower bout: 15 3/8" Body width - Upper bout: 11 1/2" Body depth at lower bout: 4 3/8" Overall length: 40"
NEW!!
The DADGAD model G1.2
I crafted this fanned fret version of my model G1 for guitar virtuoso Tony McManus. Tony plays a lot in DADGAD and C tunings. The scale lengths I selected for the subtle fan of this guitar are perfect for addressing these tuning requirements. And while the guitar is meant to “live” in DADGAD, it also works well for double dropped D, dropped D and can even be tuned up to standard tuning (although should not be left there for extended periods). This model is lattice braced and presents with a slightly more “focused” voice than my regular G1.
The bass is clear and articulate and supports the melody rather than over-powering it. Mids are focused and tight and the trebles are fat and bell like. As with all of my guitars, this guitar is very responsive and evenly balanced from string to string. It has even volume all over the fretboard and above the body joint to the last fret.
