Who is Mark Vickness?

Mark Vickness formal training includes a bachelor’s degree in music from Clark University where he graduated with high honors in music as well as a Master of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute of the Arts where he studied composition with Pulitzer Prize winner, Mel Powell and sitar with Amiya Dasgupta, a disciple of Ravi Shankar. He studies North Indian tabla with Tim Witter and Ty Burhoe.

As a performer, Mark Vickness’s primary influence on the acoustic guitar is Michael Hedges. He plays a variety of unusual instruments to accommodate original tunings including a Greenfield G4.2 Fan Fret. Mark’s acoustic fusion duo, Glass House (with singer/vocal percussionist, David Worm), is currently recording their third CD.
